Jackie "Jack" Potter, 75, of Boonville, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at his home. Jackie Hugh Potter was born August 29, 1945, in Lupus, Mo., the son of John Wilbur Potter and Bernice Wordelman Potter. He married Jill Sue Pfeiffer on February 13, 1965 in Prairie Home, Mo. Jack was a legendary race car driver in his day. He won races all over central Missouri and had the trophies to prove it. His car, #33, won Track Champion and many more titles. His passion for racing never stopped. He continued to go to NASCAR races after he retired. Jack was well known for his homemade wine. He loved to irritate and pick on people, but in the end that big laugh of Jack's let you know he was just testing your patience. Jack would give the shirt off his back to anyone that needed help. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and finding mushrooms on the Missouri River. Most of all, Jack was a family man who loved his family and his dog, Louie. He is survived by his wife, Jill Potter; son, John Potter; and sister, Jean Edwards, all of Boonville. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Jacob, Clinton, Lauren and Ricky Potter; and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Aiden, and Aurora Potter. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John Wilbur and Bernice; brother, Robert Potter; and sister, Sharon Ward. Funeral Services were held Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the Open Bible Praise Center, Boonville. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Jamestown. Memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Zion Cemetery in Jamestown, Mo. or to the medical expenses of Kathy Adams. Online condolences may be left at: www.howardfh.com.
