Helen I Howell

Helen I. Howell, 93, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at her residence. She was born on September 21, 1927, in Cooper County Mo., the daughter of Alvin J. and Augusta (Heckerman) Kendrick, both of whom preceded her in death. Helen was married to Virgil Allen Howell, who also preceded her in death on May 28, 2002. Helen was a longtime member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kansas City. Helen's heart was always with her volunteer work at Steppingstone, a children's home, and helping handicapped children for over 30 years. She enjoyed feeding birds, making floral arrangements and being active in her church. She is survived by her daughter, Natalie Costello of Kansas City, Mo. and one grandson, David Costello. She was preceded in death by her son, Glen Howell, and brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Prairie Home, Mo. at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021.
