Rhonda Lyn Carpenter

Rhonda Lyn Carpenter, 45, of Clarksburg, Mo., went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, January 22, 2021, at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics with her husband and brother by her side. She was born in Jefferson City, Mo. on November 4, 1975, the daughter of Randy Howard and Connie Hohman. Rhonda married the love of her life, Kevin Carpenter, on August 19, 1995. This past August marked their 25th wedding anniversary. In their 25 years of marriage, they had four children, Alli, Bryant, Maddi, and Will. Rhonda was a 1994 graduate of California High School. She went on to graduate from Merrell University of Beauty Arts and Science in 1995 with her degree in cosmetology. Rhonda held many roles throughout her life. For years, she had her own salon in Clarksburg, Crews & Curls. She also helped her husband run his company, Carpenter Construction LLC. More recently and one of her favorite jobs was driving a school bus for the Tipton school district. Rhonda's love for the students that rode her bus was very clear and she loved each of her kids like her own, constantly referring to them as "my kids". Rhonda attended Fortuna Baptist Church; her faith and sharing the word of God with anyone who would listen were some of her top priorities in life and she was a true example of being on fire for Christ. Rhonda's love for her family was deep; she loved her husband and children fiercely, and she always made sure to create memories, not only with them but with any member who wanted to join in whatever she had planned. Rhonda is survived by her husband Kevin Carpenter; two daughters, Alli Carpenter and Maddi Carpenter; two sons, Bryant Carpenter and Will Carpenter all of Clarksburg, Mo.; her parents, Randy (Linda) Howard, Connie (Jeff Wilson) Hohman, all of California, Mo.; her grandmother, Ruth Hohman of California, Mo.; her siblings, Lisa (Shane) Glass of Columbia, Mo., Brandon (Amy) Howard of Fulton, Mo., Matt (Carrie) Brown of Effingham, Ill., and Ben (Jessica) Brown of Kirksville, Mo.; her uncle, Mark (Lisa) Howard of Jefferson City, Mo.; her aunt, Carol (Kyle) Wirts of California, MO; her mother-in-law Pam Carpenter of Clarksburg, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Laura (Steve) Sanning and Tawnya (Don) Pace all of Clarksburg, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rhonda was preceded in death by two brothers Jonathan D. Howard and Lucas Brown; her grandparents, Cecil and Marna (Melton) Howard, Fred Hohman all of California, Mo. and her father-in-law, Larry Carpenter of Clarksburg, Mo. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at the Fortuna Baptist Church with Bro. Brad Homan and Pastor Rusty Thomas officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery north of California. In lieu of flowers, Kevin and family are asking that donations be made to Fortuna Baptist Church for their new youth building.
