Willard William Meloy, 87, of Latham, Mo., passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021, at his home. He was born on June 20, 1933, to Roman and Eula (Allen) Meloy in the township of St. Francois in Wayne County, Mo. On May 26, 1953, Willard was united in marriage to Wilma Talley. Willard enlisted and served in the Army from July 1953 to May 1955. He went to basic training in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He was stationed in Germany with 54th Engineer Battalion, Company B. He was a lifelong farmer and jack of many trades. In 1982, he and Wilma started their own successful freeze-proof water tank business and Meloy Construction. Willard is survived by his two sons, Roy (Pat) Meloy and Paul (Dawn) Meloy; three daughters, Linda (Patrick) McArthur, Wanda (Steve) Cassil, all of California, and Marilyn (David) Zehnle of St. Louis, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Freda Jacks of St. Louis and Patsy (Jim) Rainwater of Centerville, Mo.; and five brothers, Robert (Terry) Meloy of Greenville, Mo., Don Meloy of Farmington, Mo., Herman (Rhonda) Meloy of Naylor, Mo., Ed (Evelyn) Meloy of Silva, Mo., and Loyd (Pat) Meloy of Imperial, Mo. Willard was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Zella Finley and Shirley Meloy; one brother, Marvin Meloy; and his wife, Wilma. Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service. Private family services will be held at a later time.
