Stanley Dummermuth

Stanley Dummermuth, 95, of California, Mo., passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021. He was born April 11, 1926, near California, Missouri, the son of John and Gusta (Woodard) Dummermuth. He attended Pluck School and California High School. He was a lifelong farmer. Stanley was married to Arlene Althoff on April 16, 1947, at Lee's Summit, Mo., who survives of the home. He was a member of First Baptist Church in California. Stanley served during WWll in the Army from October 3, 1944, to his discharge on December 18, 1945, as a Heavy Machine Gun Operator in the South Philippines. For 27 years, Stanley was the Secretary and Treasurer of German Salem Insurance Company. He also was a bus driver for the California R-1 School district for several years. In his earlier years farming, Stanley drove a livestock truck to the St. Louis Stockyards at night. He was especially fond of his grandchildren and great-grandchild. Stanley loved to travel with his family. His travels took him to all 50 States and also several countries. Along with his wife, Stanley is survived by his son, Wayne Dummermuth (Barb); his grandchildren Tyson Dummermuth and Tessa Dummermuth; and one great-grandson, Aiden Dummermuth; and his brother, Clyde Dummermuth (Betty). Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Cordelia Hoback. Visitation will was held Sunday, June 6, 2021, 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service. The Funeral Service was held on Monday, June 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service, with Rev. Jeremy Anderson officiating. Interment followed at California City Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
