Shirley Ann Felber, 84, of California, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021, at St. Mary's Health Center surrounded by her family. She was born February 1, 1937, in Henley, Missouri, the daughter of the late Charles and Flossie (Honaker) Emmerich. Shirley was united in marriage on September 24, 1955, in Jefferson City to Roy Paul Felber. Shirley was a 1955 graduate of Eugene Cole R-5 High School. Shirley lived to aid and help others. She was a stay-at-home mom until her children were in school and then was a para-professional, working with special needs children for St. Charles County for 11 years before transitioning to provide in-home care for the elderly after moving back to Henley. She thoroughly enjoyed arts and crafts. She and Roy loved to take camping trips and passed along their tradition to their grandsons and after the boys were grown, they all camped together and the great-grandkids loved it. Her grandson Josh would make homemade ice cream which was her favorite and he always gave her the first bowl. She never missed a soap opera, and cherished her time with family. They moved to California to be near family about three years ago, and their daughter and grandsons Jordan, Justin, Josh, and Jeremy dropped by often, which she loved seeing them and all the great-grandchildren. She loved food and had a sweet tooth and frequently her daughter and grandsons would bring food and desserts by and usually a big fountain coke. Justin and Amanda cooked meals and took over, and Jordan brought them carry out food, ice cream, and all kinds of desserts. She was always a night owl staying up to 2 or 3 in the morning watching TV, playing games on her phone, or looking at Facebook; and it wasn't unusual for their grandson Jordan and sometimes their daughter to pop in at 10 or 11 p.m. and visit a couple of hours. She was proud of her daughter's and grandsons' accomplishments and that Dayton was attending college. Shirley cared about a lot of people and knew everyone's birthday and never failed to send birthday cards to all her family and friends to express her love. She was loved by her husband Roy Paul who was dedicated to her and in recent years took extremely good care of her making sure she had everything she wanted and needed. She will truly be missed by everyone. Shirley is survived by her husband, Roy Paul Felber of 65 years, who survives at the home, along with their grandson, Dayton Felber, who they have raised and has been a blessing to them; her daughter, Deborah Jo (DJ) Allen Neal and husband John; grandchildren: Jeremy Allen, Joshua Allen, Justin Allen and wife Amanda, Jordan Allen, and Dustin Felber; great- grandchildren: Chaislynn, Calli, Kemper, Hurley, Hadley, Jax, Titus, Ryker, and Addisyn. Shirley was preceded in death by her son: Douglas Allen Felber (Barbara); and brothers, Charles "Petie" and Lonnie Ray Emmerich. A celebration of life for family and friends was held Friday, March 5, 2021, at Spring Valley Baptist Church in Henley, Mo. Arrangements were under the direction of WEBER-MILLARD Funeral Home, 13415 Route C, Russellville, MO 65074, (573) 782-3525.
