Jerry A. Martin

Jerry A. Martin, 75, of California, Mo., passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born June 10, 1945, in California, Mo., the son of Golder P. and Alpha F. Martin. He graduated from Tipton High School in 1963. After high school, Jerry went to earn his Bachelors's degree from Southwest Baptist College and later earned his Master's degree from Lincoln University. Early in his career, he was a Realtor, then he worked for the State of Missouri, Division of Family Services, and retired from MoDOT as a Land Transfer Specialist. After his retirement, Jerry was a cattle farmer. Jerry was a member of the California Masonic Lodge # 183 A.F. & A.M and a member of the Baptist faith. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Jeri Hubbert (husband Kevin), Bolivar, and his granddaughter, LeAnn Montgomery (husband Byron), Springfield. Along with his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Green Martin. An informal Circle of Prayer Service will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Hickman Cemetery. As Jerry requested, his cremated remains will be scattered on his farm, at a later time. Memorials are suggested to the Hickman Cemetery.
