Ollie May McDaniel

Ollie May McDaniel, 89, of Centertown, Mo., passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021, at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, Mo. She was born on March 24, 1931 in Marion, Mo., the daughter of George Edward McKenna and Cora Catherine (Evans) McKenna, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a 1949 graduate of Centertown High School. Ollie was a member of the Centertown Baptist Church. She was united in marriage on July 16, 1955 to RJ McDaniel, who also preceded her in death in October of 1989. After her family home burned, she worked several jobs selling greeting and Christmas cards, she worked for Dr. Merrifield in Centertown, Mo. for several years, V.J. Witthaus in Centertown, Mo. for 10 years, and at Art Porterfield and the State of Missouri for a short time. Ollie enjoyed helping others, baking, walking, shopping, and going to church. Survivors include one son, James Mitchell McDaniel of Centertown, Mo.; one nephew, Jeff Haldiman of Jefferson City, Mo.; and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister. Funeral services were held Monday, March 22 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home with Stephen Bickel officiating. Burial was at the Centertown Cemetery.
