William Richard Birdsong, 89, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021, at his home in Horseshoe Bend surrounded by his family. He was born in California, Missouri on January 15, 1932, son of the late David Alfred and Nora Jane (VanSandt) Birdsong. William spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was united in marriage to Ruby Mae Parker in Clarksburg, Missouri on November 4, 1973. Bill served our country in the United States Army. During his working years, he was a truck driver for frozen foods. Bill was of the Baptist faith and a was a member of The Knight Riders Motorcycle Club. Bill is survived by his wife, Ruby Birdsong of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; daughters, Abbigail Turner of Daytona Beach, Florida, Cheryl Michaels of Sedalia, Missouri, Angel Owens and husband Teddy of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and Amy Birdsong and Bryan McDonald of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; grandchildren, Carl Michaels, Brian Michaels, William Michaels, Tyler Goforth, Jaylee Foster and Shelbi Muston; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Nora Birdsong; brothers, J.H. Stinson, Bud Stinson and Charles Birdsong; and sisters, Mary Jackson, Virginia Birdsong, Velda Pardoe and Freda McNeal. Funeral Services were held Friday, May 7, 2021, at Doty Family Funeral and Memorial Service Chapel in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Interment followed in Evening Shadows Memorial Park in Horseshoe Bend. Pallbearers included: Teddy Owens, Tyler Owens, Dean Stinson, Josh Jackson, Bryan McDonald and Kevin Burton Honorary Pallbearers included Gerald Rorie. Arrangements entrusted to Doty Family Funeral and Memorial Service of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.
