Ruth Marie Barbour

Ruth Marie Barbour, 80, of Tipton, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021, at Tipton Oak Manor. She was born October 27, 1940, in Tipton, daughter of Talton and Nora (Wolf) Embry. On November 4, 1958, in Tipton, she married Jimmy Don Barbour, who survives of the home. Ruth was a 1958 graduate of Tipton High School. She devoted her life to raising her four children. She enjoyed drawing, painting crafts, fishing and watching birds. She was very musically inclined and was self-taught on the piano. She loved having family get-togethers. Ruth was one-of-a-kind and gave the best hugs. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church. In addition to her husband, Jim, she is survived by four children: Brenda West (Wayne) of rural Tipton, Bruce Barbour (Tina) of Syracuse, Randall Barbour (Patty) of Stover, and Rhonda Turpin (Tim) of Syracuse; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Kuttenkuler; and three brothers, Gene Embry, Dean Embry and Fritz "Leo" Embry. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 27, 2021, at the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton. The visitation will conclude with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Andrew's School.
