LaCota "Coty" Rose Strobel, 59, of Centertown, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021, at her home. She was born on March 5, 1962, a daughter of the late Gerald Vincent Williams and Pauline Ann (Mummert) Williams. She was united in marriage on February 14, 1987, at Trinity Lutheran Church to Lawrence Dale Strobel. She attended school in Syracuse, Fortuna and Tipton. She spoke often about her days playing softball, basketball and volleyball during her school days. She was a member of Fortuna Baptist Church in Fortuna, Missouri. She worked several different jobs but the one she was the proudest of was having an in-home daycare for many, many children over the years. Coty was a kind and generous woman who had her children at a very young age and worked incredibly hard to make sure that they were loved and cared for. She could always be counted on to help someone in need. She was protective of her family and would do anything for them. Coty was thrilled with the birth of each new grandchild. She enjoyed collecting snow globes, porcelain dolls, glass shoes and costume jewelry. She is survived by her children: LaToma (Jason) Payne of Jefferson City, LaTonya (Rick) Percival of Russellville, and Wesley (Ivy) Trowbridge of California; grandchildren: Clayton Percival, Olivia Percival (Caleb Noble), Ella Percival, Flinton Percival, Dawson Payne (Natalie), Hayden Payne, LaCota Payne, Kaia Payne, Samuel Trowbridge and Lucas Trowbridge; great-granddaughter: Violet Ann Noble; siblings: Tommy (Theresa) Williams, Wesley (Susan) Williams, Jimmy Williams, Rebecka Coffman, Penny (Kerry) DeLisle and Mary "Jo" Pettigrew; mother-in-law: Esther Strobel; brothers-in-law: David (Karla) Strobel and Wayne Strobel; and a host of nieces and nephews. Coty was preceded in death by her brothers: Gerald "Sonny" Williams and Terry Mummert; sister: Linda "Sue" Robinson; father-in-law: Lawrence Edward Strobel; sister-in-law: Nyla Porter Williams; and brother-in-law: Carlos Coffman. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the First Baptist Church gymnasium. Interment was in the Newkirk Cemetery in Fortuna. Arrangements were under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street, Jefferson City, MO 65109, (573) 636-3838.
