Jackie Loyd Harris, 68, of Jamestown, Mo., passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021, at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Mo. He was born on October 5, 1952, the son of Raymond Harris and Ruby Lee Bloomer, both of whom preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to his lifelong high school sweetheart, Joyce Elaine Derendinger, on April 28, 1973, at the Jamestown Baptist Church. He was a 1971 Jamestown High School graduate. Jackie worked for Jamestown School doing maintenance and drove a school bus for 20 years. He also worked for Burgers Smokehouse and retired in 2012. He enjoyed working on his farm, taking care of cattle and working with his son. Jackie loved spending time with his wife, the love of his life and high school sweetheart. Jackie also spent his morning at B&T with his friends, or causing trouble and picking on someone all out of fun. He never met a stranger and always wore a smile anywhere he went. Survivors include his loving wife, Joyce Harris, of the home; son, Douglas Loyd Harris; brother, Danny (Connie) Harris; sister, Pam (Leonard) Champlain; eight grandchildren, three nieces, four nephews and several great-nieces and nephews; and mother in-law, Anna Derendinger. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and father in-law, Louis Derendinger. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo. Burial was at the California City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice, c/o the funeral home. Arrangements were under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo.
