Robert Oscar GannanSeptember 29th, 2021
Robert Oscar Gannan, 71, passed away at Capital Region on September 24, 2021. Bob was born on May 7, 1950, in Leon, Iowa to Robert Earl and Wanda Lorraine (Stanley) Gannan. He attended Davis City Elementary School and graduated from Gilman High School in 1968. He was proud of his time in school, with all of his activities, from playing sports, FFA President, and Vice President of his Senior Class. He met his lifelong friends in school and was so happy sharing stories of the adventures, aka trouble, they found. After school, he attended Trenton Junior College. Bobs first pride and joy were his four girls. If you knew him, you knew his girls, as he was always smiling as he was telling stories and bragging on their accomplishments, whether they felt they deserved them or not. His girls are Franchesca (Francie) Gannan, Carissa (Cari) Suttles (Randy), Katlyn (Katie) Cooper (Dustin) and Robin Grant (Travis). He loved them with all his heart and was so proud of the lives they were living. His very close second pride and joy were his six grandchildren: Mabree amd Ivee Cooper and Henry, Temperance (Tempe), Zelda and Rosalee (Rosie) Grant. Grandpa Bob loved going to all of their activities, from school / dance programs and all their games. The biggest Grandpa Bob treat was picking up the grandkids from school or home so he could be helpful, aka take them for ice cream. Grandpa Bob and his grandchildren all LOVED ice cream. Other survivors include: his significant other, Wendy Hale, that he loved dearly; Cheryl (Klinginsmith) Pettigrew, mother of his four girls; his sister, Norma Lukie McClaflin; his niece, Tammy Gannan and her children; and many other members of his extended family. Please join the family in the celebration of Bobs life with services at Flag Springs Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following at 6:00 p.m., all at Flag Springs Baptist Church.
