Wilma L. Dampf, 97, of California, Mo., passed away on September 21, 2021, at California Care Center, surrounded by her family. She was born July 12, 1924, near Tipton, Missouri, the daughter of Sydney and Rachel (Petty) Cobb. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1942. She was married to Warren Jenkins in 1945, who preceded her in death. Wilma then married Emmett Dampf in 1974, who also preceded her in death. She owned and operated a women's and children's clothing store for nearly twenty years, well known in the area as Wilma's Dress Shop in California, Mo. Other than spending time loving her family, Wilma was an avid gardener. She also loved to travel and take in all the sights. Wilma struggled with an inherited brain disorder, essential tremors, but she didn't let that slow her down. She continued to play her piano by ear, crotchet, and painted many beautiful oil paintings. Wilma is survived by: her son, Wayne Jenkins (Karen) of California; her daughter, Trudie Murphy (Kent) of Rocheport; four grandchildren, Jennifer Turpin (Payton) of California, Christina Calliham (Tom), Olean, Gene Cassil of Jamestown, and Brent Cassil (Gretchen) of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren, Aleena Turpin, Chelsey Turpin, Brixie Calliham, Brice Cassil, Sterling Cassil, Lillian Cassil, and Neil Cassil; a sister-in-law, Letha Cobb; and several nieces and nephews. Being the last of her family, Wilma was preceded in death by her parents as well as two brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service. Funeral Ceremony follow at 3:00 p.m. at with Rev. Jeremy Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Tipton Odd Fellows Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the California Nutrition Center or First Baptist Church-Music Department.
