Barbara Jane Barron

Barbara Jane Barron, 70, of Winfield, Ks. died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Ks., following a brief respiratory illness. Mrs. Barron was born April 8, 1943 in California, Mo., the eldest child of the late Hugh J. and Mary Margaret Inglish of rural Jamestown. She graduated from Jamestown C-1 High School in 1962, and the Jefferson City School of Practical Nursing in 1963. She married Robert S. Barron, formerly of Jefferson City, Sept. 22, 1967 in Jefferson City. Mrs. Barron began her career at Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City, and for more than 20 years worked at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita in the newborn and neonatal intensive care units. More recently she was a nurse at the Winfield State Hospital, and then at Creative Community Living in Winfield, retiring in 2006. Mrs. Barron is survived by her husband of the home; her daughter and granddaughter, Sarah and Ashley Barron, both of Wichita; one brother, John M. Inglish and his wife, Tamara, of Warrensburg, Mo.; her husband's parents, Bob and Ora Mae Barron of Jefferson City; her sister-in-law, Jeannie Shaw, her husband, Robert, and their daughter, Riley Shaw, all of Overland Park, Ks., and their son Jordan Shaw, of San Francisco, Calif. A memorial service was held on Sunday, April 21, at Park Place Ministry Center, Wichita. A memorial service is also scheduled to be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 26, at the Shiloh Christian Church in rural Moniteau County. The family suggests memorials to the Shiloh Cemetery Association, in care of Jim Miller, 25515 Miller Ford Road, California, MO 65108.
