Paul Donald Forbis, 56, of California, Missouri, formerly of Wellsville, died at 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, July 22, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident, 2 miles west of California. Mr. Forbis was born May 12, 1958, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, a son of Donald Edward and RoVera L. Debo Forbis. He was a 1976 graduate of Moniteau County R-1 in California, Missouri. Paul had worked at the Wellsville Fire Brick Company for many years. In recent years, he was one of the machinery maintenance workers at Columbia Foods in Columbia, Missouri, working as an electrician. He was a talented musician and recently became a member of the First Baptist Church in California where he had made his home since the summer of 2013. Paul loved to work with wood and had just finished making a cradle for his first granddaughter due in August. Paul is survived by his son, John Michael Forbis and wife, Rebecca, of Edmond, Oklahoma; parents, Don and RoVera Forbis, of California; step-daughter, Wendy Lynn Beshears, of Wellsville; step-granddaughters, Allison Korman, Lindsey Korman, Natalie Boeckelman and Jenelle Boeckelman, of Wellsville; brother, John J. Forbis and special friend, Trish Dunn, of California; sisters, Stephanie Yates and husband, Doug, of Mexico and Cindy Renn and husband, Paul, of Jefferson City; in addition to several nieces and nephews and last but not least, his dog, Maddie, who was his best friend. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jessica Forbis; grandparents, Ralph and Leota Debo and Clyde and Bertha Forbis and step-son, Daniel Lee Beshears. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 26th at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Rev. Bill Debo officiated. Burial was in the Wellsville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Gerald Harrington, Wayne Kemp, Matt Korman, Hugh Lehnen, Jim Mitchell and Brian Pursifull.
