Lloyd Elmer Winebrenner

Lloyd Elmer (Shorty) Winebrenner, 92, Of Clarksburg, MO passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 at his residence. He was born on September 6, 1922 the son of George William Winebrenner and Sadie Gladys (Boggs) Winebrenner both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on January 23, 1943 at the home of Rev. J.S. Laws in California, MO to June Vaughan who preceded him in death of February 4, 2011. During World War II Lloyd served in the Army for 3 years. He was owner of Winebrenner Truck Line and Winebrenner-Fowler Auctioneer. He had many cattle and was an order buyer for many people. He was a member of Clarksburg Baptist Church where he once was a Sunday school teacher and was also a deacon for many years. He enjoyed playing basketball and was a catcher for many years on a men's softball team. He also enjoyed bowling and shuffleboard. Shorty liked watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Missouri Tiger basketball. Survivors include, two daughters, Lori (Jim) Hites of Centertown, MO and Micki (Harold) Meyer of California, MO; ten grandchildren, Kenneth Rowlette Hites, Grant Zimmerman, Bridget (Nathan) Bestgen, Adam Zimmerman, Britni Hites, Bailee Hites, Quentin Zimmerman, Lacey Hites, Mary Meyer and Mark Meyer; six great-grandchildren, Taylor and Riley Zimmerman, Kaylee Rowlette, Ciara Scey, Ben and Emma Bestgen and a new great- grandchild due in August; one sister Alma Page of Clarksburg, MO and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Wilbert Winebrenner and two sisters, Virginia Bruce and Twilla Winebrenner. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Clarksburg Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Leroy Moon. Burial will be at the Hickman Cemetery near Clarksburg. Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Clarksburg Baptist Church c/o the funeral home.
