Kerry Ray Scott, 58, of Jefferson City, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015, at his residence. He was born on February 22, 1957, in Hannibal, Mo., the son of Raymond Richard Scott, who preceded him in death in 1963, and Donna (Carr) Scott-Bronson, who survives of Jefferson City. Kerry owned and operated several nurseries and greenhouses in Florida and Missouri, and was a hard worker at everything he did. He also worked part time for Scholastic as a book club order processor. He was a self-employed painter for the last several years. He loved to cook for people, and processed deer for the Share the Harvest program. His pride and joy was his two Chihuahuas, Cisco, age 11, and Chico, age 4. Besides his mother, he is survived by: two daughters, Emily Kinchens and husband Jessie of California, Mo., and Leah Rachelle Jeffries of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Howard Nelson and wife Susie of Jefferson City; two sisters, Marcia Donnelly and husband Robert of Branson, Mo., and Anna Mae Peschang and husband Pete of Kenny Lake, Alaska; and eight grandchildren. Besides his father, he was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Dave Bronson in 2010. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors with Rev. Dr. Doyle Sager officiating. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.
