Daniel Scott Rowlison

Pastor Daniel Scott Rowlison, 58, of California, Mo., passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at First Christian Church, California, Mo. He was born on November 26, 1956, in Cherry Point, N.C., to Harold and Joan (Henry) Rowlison, his father preceded him in death. He graduated from Union Star High School in 1975. On August 12, 1978, at Northglenn Christian Church Dan was married to Gwenna Carringer. He graduated in 1995 from Nebraska Christian College with a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministries. He ministered at Inavale Church of Christ, Inavale, Neb., Westside Church of Christ in Akron, Iowa, First Christian Church in O'Neill, Neb., First Christian Church in Broken Bow, Neb. and First Christian Church in California, Mo. His hobbies were singing, reading (especially "Lord of the Rings"), model trains, fishing and he did woodworking. He was an active member of the Nebraska State Christian Convention Steering Committee. He was a member of the Kiwanis and enjoyed the community choir when he could. Dan is survived by: his wife, Gwenna Rowlison of the home; a daughter, Rachael Blaske (Justin) of Lincoln, Neb.; a son, Chris Rowlison (Manda) of Washington, N.C.; one granddaughter, McKenna Blaske; four grandsons, Joshua Wilson, Eli, Teague, and Zane Blaske; his mother, Ina Joan Rowlison, St Joseph, Mo.; four siblings, Jodi Glidewell (Mark), Clay Rowlison, Laurie Herring all of St. Joseph and Jon Rowlison (Carol) of Cameron, Mo., along with several nieces and nephews. Along with his father, Dan was preceded in death by an infant grandchild. The family received friends at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service on Sunday, October 4, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2015, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Rev. Jon Palmquist officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2015, in Table Rock Cemetery in Table Rock, Neb., with Rev. Jim Brown officiating.
