Dorothy M. Matheis

Dorothy M. Matheis, 78, of California, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Eldon Nursing and Rehab Facility in Eldon. She was born on December 5, 1939 in Granite City, Ill., the daughter of Oren and Edna Mae (Mixen) Lindsey, both of whom preceded her in death. She later was united in marriage on August 23, 1958 in Aurora Springs to Wayne Matheis, who preceded her in death on April 14, 2005. She was the owner of Doti-lyn's Fabric Shop in California for many years and retired from ABB in Jefferson City. She enjoyed gardening, yardwork, playing cards, socializing and being with her family. Dorothy is survived by one son, David Matheis and wife Lora of Russellville; one sister, Norma Tubbs of High Point; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glynn Lindsey and Earl Lindsey; and one sister, Wilma Birdsong. A Memorial Service was held Tuesday, May 15, at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. Inurnment will be held at Enloe Cemetery near Russellville at a later date. Memorials are suggested to donor's choice, c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
