Bonnie Lee Sestak

Bonnie Lee Sestak, 90, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018, at California Care Center. She was born September 5, 1927, at home in Moniteau County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Herschel and Virgie (Scott) Dampf. Bonnie was a 1945 graduate of Russellville High School and received her teaching certificate. She was united in marriage on May 7, 1947, in Kansas City, Kansas to Charles Gilbert "Bert" Sestak who preceded her in death on April 9, 2004. Bonnie worked as the Head Start Director in California for the Moniteau County area for many years. Bonnie's greatest work and passion was being a loving wife to Bert and a caring mother to her three children. She was a lifelong member of Corticelli Baptist Church where she was active in many church activities. She also was a member of the Sherwood Neighbors Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed embroidery, watching baseball and basketball games, cooking for her family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include three children, Betty (Dean) Parker, Russellville, Bruce (Alvina) Sestak, Russellville, Brenda (Todd) Mueller, Overland Park, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Dena (Kyle) Kruse, Danette (Eric) Bax, Derek (Crista) Parker, Brian (Holly) Sestak, April Sestak (fiancé Justin Odom), Amanda (Gabe) Kulp, Jessica (Will) Uffmann; three step-grandchildren, Stacey (Bryan) Evers, Scott (Loretta) Bittle, Jason (Monica) Bittle; 16 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and three sister-in-laws, Ruth Dampf, Russellville, Fern Winkler, Platte City, Mo., Virginia Spencer, Northglenn Co. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Donald Dampf. Funeral service was at 12 noon Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Corticelli Baptist Church, 57731Highway C, Russellville, MO 65074, with Dr. Rick Seaton officiating. Burial was in Enloe Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Enloe Cemetery. Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville was in charge of the arrangements.
