Eulah Mae Gertz

Eulah Mae Gertz, 92, formerly of St. Louis, Mo., passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Good Samaritan Home in Quincy, Ill. She was born February 5, 1929, at the family home, northeast of California, Mo., the daughter of Herman Theodore (H.T.) Borghardt and Amelia Marie Hoellering Borghardt. She was a graduate of Kramer School, as was her dad, and California High School, Class of 1946. On October 29, 1955, she was united in marriage to Herbert Henry Gertz of St. Louis at the Evangelical Church in California. It was then she moved from the farm to St. Louis to make her home. Herbert passed away on February 11, 2010. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Creve Coeur, Mo. Her employment record includes Lemens' Ben Franklin Store in California, the Missouri Bureau of Vital Statistics in Jefferson City, the Chase Bag Company in St. Louis, and St. Louis State Hospital. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Lynne Husar and son-in-law Edward Husar, two grandchildren Katherine Lynne Husar and John Edward Husar, all of Quincy, Ill.; a sister, Ruth Louise Brizendine, and brother-in-law Robert, and two sisters-in-law, Helen Borghardt and Elaine Borghardt Volkart, all of California; a sister-in-law, Winona Gertz of Blue Springs, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Albert, Roy and Carl Borghardt; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Borghardt; a brother-in-law, Harold Gertz; two nephews, infant Daniel Ray Borghardt and Michael Dean Borghardt; and an infant niece, Jesse Lou Borghardt. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home in California, Mo. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Bowlin Cantriel Funeral Home. Burial will be at the California Masonic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Evangelical Church, 9801 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, MO 63141. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak St., California, Mo.
