SCHLUP Elizabeth “Liz” H. Schlup, 82, of California, Mo., passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, at her residence. She was born on August 5, 1940, in California, Mo., the daughter of Joe Fischer and Elizabeth Mary (Rouchka) Fischer, both of whom preceded her in death. Liz attended Annunciation Catholic grade school and graduated from California High School in 1958. She was united in marriage on May 2, 1959. in California, Mo. to Lyle Schlup that she loved deeply who preceded her in death on December 25, 2006. Liz worked at Chesebrough-Ponds/Unilever for 33 years until her retirement on January 1, 1999. She was a former church member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Jefferson City, Mo., St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Holts Summit, Mo., and she was currently a faithful member of Annunciation Catholic Church in California, Mo. Liz was a member of Red Hatters and the Bunko group of California, Mo. She enjoyed cooking, loved going and spending time at the Lake, but her biggest enjoyment and love was being with her family. Liz is survived by three sons, Randy L. Schlup (Jo Ann), Robert D. Schlup (Elizabeth A.) and Jeff J. Schlup (Julie) all of California, Mo.; three brothers, Paul Fischer (Joy) of California, Mo., Tom Fischer (Susan) of Columbia, Mo. and Jim Fischer (Mary Beth) of St. Louis, Mo.; four sisters, Mary Jo Taube, Janet Scheidt (Charlie), Rose Scheidt all of Columbia and Debbie Miller (Gary) of California, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Jaki Porter (Jason), Lance Schlup (Courtney), Kari Less (Brandon), Lyndsay York (Dusty), Cole Schlup, Camryn Schlup and Chase Schlup; 11 great-grandchildren, Paige and Cash Schlup, Lucy, Elsy and Tram York, Kolby, Noah and Ava Less, Brody, Beau and Breena Porter. She was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Bill Taube and Bill Scheidt. Visitation will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. also at Annunciation Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Annunciation Catholic Church Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Anthony Viviano. Memorials are suggested to the Annunciation Catholic Cemetery c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Service, California, Mo.
