BOLIN
Dana Jeanette Bolin, 75, of California, Mo., passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the University of Missouri Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was born on October 23, 1948, at the Latham Hospital in California, Mo., the daughter of Robert “Bob” Hogge and Eleanor J. (Todd) Hogge, both of whom preceded her in death.
Dana was a 1966 graduate of California High School. She went on to further her education and received a Merit in Art at Christian College in 1968, received her bachelor of science at UNLV and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, earned her master’s degree in 1993, from Lincoln University, earned her counseling degree in 1997, became a licensed Clinical Counselor in Illinois in 2009, and was on the State Board of Behavioral Sciences from Iowa and Illinois. Dana taught and counseled schools in California, High Point, Jamestown, Quincy Public Schools, J.C.A.C. in Jefferson City, Mo. and was in counseling at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
She was united in marriage on December 21, 1968, at the California United Methodist Church to the love of her life Donald F. Bolin who survives of the home. She had a calling for helping and teaching students, especially children that needed a little extra help getting their high school degree. She loved quilting, art, painting, fishing, antiquing, going on road trips, spending time with her friends and especially her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Don Bolin of the home; son, Todd Bolin and wife Kamie of California, Mo.; daughter, Ashley Thomas and husband Erik of Jefferson City, Mo.; daughter in-law, Amber Bolin of California, Mo.; sister, Dale Maude Graff and husband Bill of Prairie Home, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Will Bolin, Mikayla Thomas, Chatman Pardoe, Brady Bolin, Jared Kendrick, Aaron Kendrick, Rhiannon Cook, Kelsay Gish; three great-grandchildren, Evander Kendrick, Harper and Jordan Cook and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Lane Bolin on July 23, 2014; and infant sister, Gail Beth Hogge.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. with the Memorial Service immediately following at 12 p.m., all at the California United Methodist Church in California, Mo. Officiating will be Rev. John Kerr and Pastor Nick Van Dam. Inurnment will be at a later date at Sappington Cemetery near California, Mo.
Memorials are suggested to the Sappington Cemetery c/o the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services of California, Mo.
