‘Wreaths for Heroes’ donations accepted

The "Wreaths for Heroes" campaign is still under way with donations appreciated towards placing a wreath on each grave in the Jefferson City National Cemetery at 1024 East McCarty Street, Jefferson City, for Christmas.

The cost is $10 each for the artificial wreaths and a small stand.

The cemetery holds the remains of nearly 1,600 veterans

Each wreath will be placed on a small stand before one of the gravestones in the cemetery.

This year, "Wreaths for Heroes" plans to place the wreaths on Dec. 11 and remove them on Jan. 20.

The wreaths are handmade from artificial materials and should last about three years before needing to be replaced.
