Russellville Varsity Boys
The Russellville varsity boys played Eldon in the first round of the Eugene Invitational Nov. 28, where the Indians suffered a 49-29 loss to the #2 seeded Mustangs.
Levi Kehr led Russellville with eight points, followed by Zach Renick with seven and Levi Anderson with six. Kehr and Kaleb Payne led rebounds with eight each, while Chandler Wolf had seven. Payne also had four assists.
"We played well defensively, but simply had far too many turnovers and our offense struggled to score," Russellville Coach Chris Leuckel said. "Both are very fixable and we will work hard to do just that."
Russellville, the #7 seed, then faced Versailles, the #6 seed, in the semifinal round of the losers bracket Wednesday, Nov. 30, where the Indians lost a close contest to the Tigers, 58-53 to end their run in the tourney.
Clayton Harrison led the Indians with 15 points (five 3-pointers). Kehr followed with 14 points and eight rebounds. Payne and Wolf each contributed seven points.
