Wednesday, February 23, 2011
Those attending the Finke Theatre Saturday night enjoyed an outstanding evening of music from five accomplished clarinetists. An audience favorite was a tribute to Artie Shaw which included Star Dust, Frenesi and Begin the Beguine. They completed the performance with a rousing When the Saints Go Marching In. On exhibit in the concession gallery was the nature and wildlife paintings by Phil Schroeder.
The next performance at the Finke will be the play The Nerd. It is being directed by Audie Klien who is holding rehearsals with the cast three times per week at this time. The cast is drawn from local talent and the parts are played by the following: Willum Cubbert by Jason Gatlin, Tansey McGinnis by Becca Barnard, Axle Hammond by Dennis Donley, Warnock Waldgrave by Roy Barnard, Clelia Waldgrave by Ramona Harder, Thor Waldgrave by Luke Freeman, and Rick Steadman (The Nerd) by Nathaniel Donley. There will be two performances, Saturday, March 19 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 20 at 2 p.m. Anyone interested in tickets should call 796-2895 or 690-9363.
