California Area Chamber of Commerce Meets

The California Area Chamber of Commerce Board met Thursday, June 9, at City Hall. Guests included Donna Toebben, First Financial, and Breck Summerford, Bartlett and West. Topics discussed included declining to advertise in a pamphlet on Highway 50 being published by the Sedalia Democrat. In committee reports the need for a new chair of the Annual Dinner Committee was reported as Morris and Dolores Burger will be out of town the weekend of the dinner. Some issues regarding finalizing the articles of incorporation which are being resolved by Ann Perry.

The June 14 Golf Tournament planning is going well and teams still wishing to enter should contact Chris Long. The Chamber has received thank you notes from the Chamber Scholarship awardees Kaleb Borghardt, Erin Cary, Kelci Dampf and Ryan Gerhart.

Finally, Norris Gerhart reported the Signage Committee has had two meeting and will meet June 16 to discuss what are the needs for signage on Highway 50. People are encouraged to come to the June 16, meeting and bring 10 needs/observations of what is on/not on Highway 50 and needs to be brought up to MoDOT.
