Dixon defeats Russellville in district action

After a 41-38 win against Warsaw in first-round action at the Class 3 District 10 Basketball Tournament Feb. 26 at Cole Camp, the Russellville Indians, seeded ninth, lost 76-60 to top-seeded Dixon March 1, to end the season 9-16.

"We had more wins this year than last, and our program is getting stronger at all levels," Russellville Coach Chris Leuckel said. "At the varsity level, we have a very solid nucleus return. We won our first district game in nine years. There are seven juniors who have been in our system for the past three years and three are returning starters. We will work extremely hard in the off-season to continue our individual development and we're looking forward to next season."
