Duvall takes the office being vacated by retiring Collector Carlene Petree, after being elected to the office in November.

Duvall, a Democrat, takes over the top position in the Collector's Office after serving 18 years as Deputy Collector. She and her husband Jim live south of California.

"My office doors will always be open to the taxpayers of Moniteau," Duvall said. "You may call upon me at anytime and I will do my best to assist you."

The County Collector is responsible for the collection of current and delinquent Personal and Real Property Taxes for the various political subdivisions of the county, such as school, library, cities, roads and fire districts. Also collected are merchants licenses, auctioneer licenses and railroad and utility taxes. The collector is charged with the duties of collecting the taxes due, as shown on the County tax records, and funds collected are distributed monthly to the various taxing entities.

The Collector's office also offers duplicate receipts to show the license bureau for those who cannot locate their tax receipt.

Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
