Pastors and their families were treated to a turkey dinner at the Pastors Appreciation Dinner held Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Fortuna Senior Center. The Fortuna Senior Citizens began hosting the dinner which includes turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and a variety of other sides and desserts 21 years ago. Don Reineke, the former president of the Fortuna Senior Citizens came up with the idea for the dinner.
"We think all of the ministers and pastors in the area do a fabulous job," Fortuna Senior Citizens President Buster Morrison said. "We just try to support them. They minister to us, so we try to minister to them."
