CPI Board approves replacing damaged theater curtain

The Board of Directors of California Progress, Inc. (CPI) discussed available funds and anticipated expenses for the next year at the regular monthly meeting Tuesday, Nov. 15, before voting to approve the purchase of new curtains for the Finke Theatre.

Money is limited to what is currently on hand and what can be gained through future fundraisers.

The funds on hand also include about $13,500 for the marquee which is to be built on the front of the theater. Construction of the marquee has been delayed due to storm sewer construction. The storm sewer when completed will run from south of the post office to the area in the northwest part of the city. Since the construction will be under the sidewalk in front of the theater, CPI was asked to delay construction until the storm sewer is completed, probably in September 2012. The marquee will be added after that.
