Upcoming Road Work for Mid-Missouri Oct. 26-Nov. 4

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for Wednesday, Oct. 26 through Friday, Nov. 4, 2011. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected. MoDOT reminds the public to buckle up, slow down, follow posted signing and drive safely through work areas. All Counties

Daylight Hours

Mowing of right of way is underway in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow moving equipment along the roadside.

Boone County

Daylight Hours/Overnight Hours

Route 63 from just north of Route 163 to Route H - Construction of a new diamond interchange and southbound lanes. Motorists should expect periodic lane closures.

  • Route H is temporarily closed at U.S. 63. Traffic is being detoured to Hardwick Lane, located near the U.S. 63 roadside park. Route H will remain closed at U.S. 63 until the new interchange opens to traffic.

  • The contractor continues excavation near Turkey Creek.

Overnight Hours

Route 163 (Providence Road) bridge over Hinkson Creek south of Mick Deaver Drive in Columbia - Bridge maintenance and repair continues through Thursday, Oct. 27. One lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Callaway County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 94 over Auxvasse Creek, three miles east of Mokane - Bridge deck replacement is nearing completion. The bridge is scheduled to open to traffic the week of Oct. 31. The bridge is currently closed to traffic. Motorists can detour around the area on Routes CC, O and C. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Camden County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 between the Grand Glaize Bridge to west of Route KK in Osage Beach - Grading, drainage work, paving and bridges for the new Route 54 Expressway.

  • Final paving and shoulder work will continue at all new service road connections. Minor traffic delays can be expected.

  • Traffic is now using a portion of the new Route KK.

  • The eastbound and westbound U.S. 54 traffic to the eastbound Grand Glaize Bridge is being redirected. The westbound bridge is closed to traffic so crews can build the tie-in connector roads from the bridge to the new expressway. One lane in each direction will be open to traffic in the work area. The new traffic configuration will remain in place through late November.

The entire project is scheduled for completion late 2011.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route A bridge over Barnett Branch, approximately one mile east of Route E - Bridge replacement is complete. The bridge opened to traffic late Monday, Oct. 17. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Camden and Miller Counties

Daylight Hours

Route 242/Horseshoe Bend Parkway between the Lake of the Ozarks Community Bridge and Route 54 - Grading and paving for a new four-lane highway.

  • Minor traffic delays can be expected on Fish Haven Road as motorists are routed around and through the new Route 242 construction. Traffic on Fish Haven Road may be stopped periodically while the contractor hauls material across the road.

  • Traffic is using the new Route MM and Horseshoe Bend Parkway Connection. Work continues in this area as the contractor finishes tie-ins.

This project is scheduled for completion in late winter 2011.

Cole County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 between Old Bass Road and Route CC - Improvements at 12 intersections along 8.5 miles of U.S. 54 to improve safety and traffic flow.

  • Construction continues near the Honey Creek Road intersection through late November.

Motorists should expect periodic lane closures in both eastbound and westbound lanes of

U.S. 54 during the work. The entire corridor is scheduled for completion in fall 2012.

Route 50 bridge over the Moreau River, east of McCarthy Street in Jefferson City - Bridge maintenance and repair in the westbound lanes continues through Wednesday, Oct. 26. One westbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Route 50/63 between City View Dr. and Shamrock Road in Jefferson City - Roadway maintenance and repair in the westbound lanes will take place Wednesday, Oct. 26 and Monday, October 31 through Wednesday, Nov. 2. One westbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Route 179 between Route C and Edgewood Drive - Grading, drainage, and bridge paving for a new interchange. Route 179 is scheduled to open to traffic late Monday, Oct. 24. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2012.

Route D bridge over Route 50, just west of Business Route 50 - Bridge maintenance will take place on Monday, Oct. 31. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Overnight Hours

Truman Boulevard Bridge over Route 50 in Jefferson City - Bridge maintenance and repair in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 2. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.

Crawford County

Daylight Hours

Interstate 44 between mile markers 202 and 224 - Roadway maintenance and repair in the westbound lanes will take place on Thursday, Oct. 27. One westbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Route E between Route 8 and end of state maintenance

Route BB between Route 8 and end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance and repair continues through Thursday, Oct. 27. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Overnight Hours

Interstate 44 between Route H and the Phelps County line - Roadway resurfacing in the westbound lanes continues through early December. One westbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Gasconade County

Daylight Hours

Route 19 between Route 50 and Route 28 - Roadway maintenance and repair will take place Thursday, Oct. 27 through Tuesday, Nov. 1. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 100 between Route 19 and Route N - Roadway maintenance and repair continues through Wednesday, Oct. 26. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Howard County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 240 between Main Street in Fayette and Route 124 - Bridge replacement over the Bonne Femme Creek Overflow continues. One lane will be open and temporary traffic signals will guide motorists through the work zone. The lane width of the roadway is 10'6" in the work zone. Route 124 is closed at the intersection of Route 240 and will remain closed for the duration of the project. Motorists who wish to access Route 240 from Route 124 will need to find alternate routes around the area. The project will continue through early November.

Laclede County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route PP bridge over Brush Creek, two miles south of Route C - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic through late November. Motorist can detour around the area on Routes J, CC and C. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Maries County

Daylight Hours

Route 42 between Route 133 and the Miller County line - Roadway maintenance and repair continues through Thursday, Oct. 27. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route A between Route 63 and the Phelps County line - Partial surface overlay will take place on Friday, Oct. 28. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route E between Route 28 and end of state maintenance - Partial surface overlay will take place on Monday, Oct. 31. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Miller County

Daylight Hours

Route MM between Route 54 and end of state maintenance - Partial surface overlay will take place Monday, Oct. 31 and Tuesday, Nov. 1. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Miller and Maries Counties

Daylight Hours

Route 42 between Route 133 in Maries County and Route 17 in Miller County - Roadway resurfacing continues through early November. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Moniteau County

Daylight Hours

Old Route 50 (Lookout Trail) at Route PP near McGirk - Intersection safety improvements continue through mid-December. One lane will open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Moniteau and Morgan Counties

Daylight Hours

Route 5 from Tipton city limits to Route 52 in Morgan County - Roadway resurfacing continues through early November. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Morgan County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 5 over Soap Creek bridge, just North of Route P - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic during the construction and traffic is being detoured around the work area using Routes 135 and J. Tractor-trailers and other large commercial vehicles should consider using other routes to get around the construction area, such as U.S. 54 or U.S. 65. The project will continue through late November. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Phelps County

Daylight Hours

Route K between Route 63 and end of state maintenance - Partial surface overlay continues through Thursday, Oct. 27. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight Hours/Overnight Hours

Interstate 44 ramps at mile marker 184 in Rolla - Roundabout construction at the I-44 Business Loop interchange continues at mile marker 184.

  • The westbound off-ramp at mile marker 184 is now open to traffic.

  • Motorists traveling westbound on I-44 will need to proceed north on U.S. 63 to the interchange at mile markers 185 or 196.

The roundabouts are scheduled to be completed by late 2011.

Pulaski County

Daylight Hours

Route E between Route 17 and end of state maintenance - Partial surface overlay will take

place Monday, Oct. 31 through Thursday, Oct. 27. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Interstate 44 and end of state maintenance - Partial surface overlay continues through Thursday, Oct. 27. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Washington County

Daylight Hours

Route 185 between Route N and the Franklin County line - Roadway maintenance and repair continues through Thursday, Oct. 27. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route A between Route 47 and Route 185 - Partial surface overlay will take place Monday, Oct. 31 and continue through Friday, Oct. 4. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
