CHS Choirs earn top ratings at District Music Contest; 23 advance to State Music Contest

California High School students competed at the District Music Contest Saturday, March 31, at the Miller Performing Arts Center, Jefferson City, where each of the CHS choirs (Chamber Choir, Mixed Choir, Women's Choir and Men's Choir) earned a 1 Rating and will advance to the State Music Contest April 26 at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

"Great job CHS choirs," CHS Choral Director Michele Bilyeu said. "We have 23 students who qualified to advance to the State Music Contest. I'm so proud!"

Students who earned a 1 Rating, in a group or as an individual will advance to the State Music Contest.

Students who received a 1 Rating for their vocal solo are Brandon Embry, Jeremy Jungmeyer, Alex Pace, Kirstyn Roush, Grant Burger, Bailey Glenn and Kassi Meisenheimer.
