Annual Christmas Parade held Saturday at Prairie Home

The annual Prairie Home Christmas Festival was held Saturday at Prairie Home where the parade, with the theme "A Storybook Christmas", was featured amidst a slew of activities in conjunction with the holiday celebration.

Santa and a couple of his elves brought up the rear of the parade by hitching a ride on a Prairie Home firetruck. Following the parade, Santa made his way to the school gymnasium, where children had the opportunity to sit on his lap to share their Christmas wishes. Santa also handed out treats.

A craft show and brunch were also held at the school, as well as a number of contests. Winners of the contests are as follows: Best Dressed Animal - first place, Kaelyn Crews; second, Camden Holliday. Prince and Princess Contest for ages 3-5 - first place, Carter Pethan and Justice Case; second place, Cooper Scott and Hunter Scott; and third place, Phoenix Cantrell and Daisie Huth.

Festive Baby Contest- 1 year and under - first place, Paige Alpers, 4 months; second, Gentry Huth, 6 months; and third, Spencer Yeokum, 8 months; Festive Baby Contest 1-2 years - first place, Logan Waibel, 1 year. Best fourwheeler - first place, Preston Scheidt; second, Colten Wells; and third, Landyn Sells. Best parade float using theme - first place, Prairie Home 4H; second, Prairie Home United Methodist Church; aand third place, Redneck Christmas. Best Antique Tractor using theme - first place, Adam Lohse.
