In 1982, a group of farmers got together and formed Prairie Home Co-Op after purchasing the site from MFA, to serve the needs of local producers in the area. Almost 30 years later, they are still serving the area whether it is feed, seed, dry fertilizer or anhydrous ammonia. They also sell Monsanto seed and take corn, soybeans and wheat with a full service elevator. Jim Woods has been the general manager of Prairie Home Co-Op for three years and has worked in the agricultural industry for 27 years.

Prairie Home Co-Op is located at 9238 Highway 87.

"We are a service organization," Woods said. "It is our job to put the best tools in the hands of the producers to do the best job possible growing a crop. If they are successful it helps our chances of being successful. We want to provide a service for the producers and be a part of the community. We enjoy being able to provide them with the tools they need to come out on top."
