A wide variety of topics were covered at the regular monthly meeting of the California R-I School Board on Wednesday, Feb. 15.

A summer school program in August for those who qualify to enter kindergarten for the 2012-13 year is planned to make the transition into the school easier.

The board accepted the resignation of Elementary Principal Terry Steffes. Steffes later commented she will be completing a dissertation towards an Ed.D from St. Louis University.

A review was held of the Practical Arts, with presentations made by Lee Longan and Adam Bieri (FFA), Julia Potter (DECA), Mary Thomas (Business), Monique Schepers (FCCLA), Julia Potter (FAC) and Dwight Fitzwater (Industrial Arts). Adult ag instructor Dale Hodges was unable to attend the meeting.
