Capitol Police investigating 'target' stickers placed on Capitol doors
Capitol Police and the Highway Patrol were asked Tuesday afternoon to investigate some "target" stickers placed next to the doors of several state senators.
Sen. Jolie Justus, D-Kansas City, told colleagues during floor debate that some stickers were replaced with larger targets "like one would use at a shooting range," after the first ones were removed.
Senate staff members declined to comment, while the law officers continued their investigation.
No verbal threats or written messages were reported, and no reasons were given for posting the stickers, which were described by Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, D-University City, as "crosshairs."
Sen. Kevin Engler, R-Farmington, called the action "disgusting."
