Cole County R-1 School Board Meets

The Cole County R-1 School Board held its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, May 24.

Under new business, the Board adopted the agenda, administrators presented their reports and voted to approve the consent agenda as presented. The Board approved a payroll fund transfer of $204,000.

Cole County R-1 School District Superintendent Jerry Hobbs reported the Surtax Agreement with Cole County was signed and approved by all parties involved. The district was overpaid $88,447 and has repaid $17,689.46 of this debt. The district will pay $8,844.73 per year through 2019. The Board voted to approve the MSBA Board policy updates and changes as presented. The Board also approved both the Missouri Comprehensive School Improvement Plan and the Co-Curricular Program Report as presented.

In closed session, the Board voted to accept a letter of resignation from Scott Sellner, Russell Foster and Lisa Denny. The Board voted to employ Kelly Beale as special services teacher; Scott White as PE teacher, head boys' basketball coach and assistant baseball coach; Jennifer Bish as fifth grade teacher and girls' assistant basketball coach; Andrea Hill as fifth grade teacher; Alyson Bissonnette as high school science teacher and assistant cross country coach. The Board also voted to re-employ all of the non-certified staff.

The June Board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 14.
