The student and faculty handbooks for the 2012-13 school year were approved by the California R-I School Board at the regular monthly meeting Tuesday, June 19.

The board members, which had previously reviewed the handbooks, approved the proposed changes with one exception.

In the high school handbook, the board approved a revision in the section on Academic Honesty regarding plagiarism, conditional on the addition of examples to more accurately explain the issue. The handbook defines plagiarism as "using the ideas or words of another and passing it off as one's own work." It then provides an example of the "cut and paste" technique of using another's work from an Internet source.''
