MDC offers Free Fishing Days

This is your chance to try fishing without having to buy a permit! The MDC (Missouri Department of Conservation) annual Free Fishing Days are the Saturday and Sunday following the first Monday in June, which would be June 9 and 10 this year. Any person may fish state waters without a permit, trout permit and prescribed area daily tag during Free Fishing Days.
Requirements for special permits may still apply at some county, city or private areas. Normal regulations, such as size and daily limits, also still apply.
Upcoming Free Fishing Day Events:
• Free Fishing Weekend, Saturday, June 9, statewide.
• Kellogg Lake Kids Fishing Day, Saturday, June 9, Kellogg Lake Park, Carthage.
• Kids' Free Fishing, Saturday, Aug. 4, Montauk State Park (located 21 miles southwest of Salem, on Highway 119.)
