Beginning Tuesday, the Jefferson City Department of Public Works and contractor Twehous Excavating will replace the water main on Monroe Street between East McCarty and High streets.
Weather and construction progress permitting, the work should be completed by 5 p.m. Friday, June 8.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
Cole County
• U.S. 50 between Route M and Big Meadows Road - Concrete repair in the eastbound lanes will take place Tuesday through Thursday, June 7.
One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.
• U.S. 54 between Old Bass Road and Route CC - Improvements at 12 intersections along 8.5 miles of U.S. 54 to improve safety and traffic flow.
Crews are implementing acceleration and deceleration lanes, offset turn lanes, lighting and other lane modifications at the intersections of Buffalo Road and Heritage Highway. One lane of 54 in each direction will remain open at all times. However, motorists should be prepared for possible delays.
The west entrance to Monticello Road will close for approximately 30 days, beginning Monday, June 4. Motorists using that road can access the east entrance during the closure. The entire corridor is scheduled for completion in the fall.
• Missouri 179 between Route C and Edgewood Drive - Grading, drainage and bridge paving for a new interchange. Periodic lane closures may occur, and motorists are advised to use caution through the area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the summer.
• Route D bridge over the Moreau River, south of Stringtown Road - Bridge maintenance will take place Tuesday through Thursday, June 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Boone County
• U.S. 63 from just north of Missouri 163 to Route H - Construction of a new diamond interchange and southbound lanes. Motorists should expect periodic lane closures.
The 163 crossover north of the overpass construction will be closed Tuesday. Motorists will need to use the next available crossover or overpass to the north and south.
Lane closures are likely Friday, June 1, to allow for the removal of guard cable.
Route H is temporarily closed at 63. Traffic is being detoured to Hardwick Lane, located near the 63 roadside park. Route H will remain closed at 63 until the new interchange opens to traffic.
Motorists should be prepared for periodic reductions in speed limits through the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion late in the year.
• Missouri 163 between Interstate 70 and U.S. 63 - Concrete repair will take place Tuesday through Friday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Boone and Callaway counties
• I-70 between mile markers 136 and 148 - Asphalt overlay in the westbound lanes will take place Tuesday through Thursday. One westbound lane will be open through the work area.
Callaway County
• Missouri 94 bridge over East Wing Creek east of Route C - Bridge replacement is under way. The bridge is closed to traffic through early July. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
• U.S. 54 at Route J - Roadway maintenance in the eastbound lanes will take place Wednesday. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.
• Route PP between Missouri 94 and Route BB - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Miller County
• Route MM bridge over J Buster Creek south of Bittle Road - Bridge replacement is scheduled to begin the week of June 4. The bridge will be closed to traffic through mid-July. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
• Missouri 42 between Missouri 134 and Barren Branch Road - Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Osage County
• U.S. 50 between Missouri 100 and Honey Creek Road - Roadway maintenance will take place Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
• Route J between Missouri 89 and Missouri 100 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, June 4, through Thursday, June 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Phelps County
• U.S. 63 between Interstate 44 and the Maries County line - Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.
