Moniteau County Library @ Wood Place Offers Download Audiobooks, eBooks and More

Moniteau County Library @ Wood Place is expanding its services with audiobooks, eBooks, music, and video, available to download from the library's website.   Library card holders can check out and download

digital media anytime, anywhere beginning on Friday, Nov. 30.   This new service will create a virtual branch of the library for your convenience.

Users may browse the library's website, check out with a valid library card and download to PC, Mac(r), and many mobile devices. Users will need to install free software. For audiobooks, music, and video:

OverDrive(r) Media Console(tm). To read eBooks, users will need Adobe(r) Digital Editions. Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices. Virtually all eReaders and mobile devices are

compatible with the OverDrive system,  a database for over 8,000 best-selling and classic titles on eBooks, 2,000 digital audio books, music and videos.  Some audio titles can also be burned to CD to listen

on-the-go. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no late fees.

"All you need is a library card and wi-fi to access OverDrive from your home or the library. We are excited to offer this new format of library materials to our patrons.  It keeps our library moving forward to

provide this community with  21st century library services," says Connie Walker, library director.

This new service, powered by OverDrive, is free for patrons with their library card.   OverDrive is a leading full-service digital distributor of eBooks, audiobooks, music, and video.   Public libraries throughout

Missouri offer this service by belonging to Missouri Libraries 2 Go. Being a part of this group allows our library to provide more titles at an affordable price.

If you've been thinking about purchasing an E-Reader or already have one, stop by the library for more information or log on to our website at www.woodplacelibrary.org. Also, a link will be available on our

website to show patrons how to use OverDrive. You will learn how to browse, checkout, download and troubleshoot any problems with the download process.  Library staff will also be glad to assist you.
