A special luncheon, called a "100-man lunch," promoting recognition of males as role models was held Thursday, March 28, at Moniteau County Head Start, California. The goal of such special events is to bring a male role model in greater contact with each of the children.
The events included visits by several fathers and other male role models, including several police officers, for the young students. The youngsters read books, played games and had lunch with the adults.
Tawnya Pace, Head Start team leader, said the goal generally of Moniteau County Head Start is to prepare the children for kindergarten.
