Pintos place fourth at Linn Invitational, Lady Pintos finish sixth

The California High School varsity track team competed at the Linn Invitational Thursday, where the Pintos finished in fourth place, while the Lady Pintos placed sixth.

"I thought we did some good things at the meet and of course like everyone else, we still have some things to work on," California Coach Rick Edwards said. "We're young in the relays, so we will improve on them."

Eldon won the boys division with 141 points, followed by Blair Oaks in second place with 101; Fatima, third, 88.5; California, fourth, 81; and Vienna, fifth, 55.5.

Blair Oaks won the girls division with 115 points, followed by Fatima in second place with 99.5; South Callaway, third, 96; Russellville, fourth, 69.5; Eldon, fifth, 59.5; and California, sixth place with 57.7.

Individually for California in the boys division, Walker Borghardt placed first in the 100 Meter Dash with 11.43, fifth in the 200 Meter Dash with 23.88, and first in the Triple Jump with 41'3". Logan Rowles finished the 400 Meter Dash in second place with 52.72, and placed third in the High Jump with 5'8". Adam Burkett placed fourth in the 1600 Meter with 4:57.66.

Luke Burger placed second in the Pole Vault with 11'. Nathan Squires finished the Shot Put in third place with 45'6.5", and Ramiro Garcia finished the Discus Throw in fourth place with 127'2", while Ty Kirchner placed sixth with 121'5".

Dylan Norton placed fifth in the 300 Meter Hurdles with 44.31, and eighth in the 110 Meter Hurdles with 19.10. Dakota Harris finished the 3200 Meter in seventh place with 11:06.80, and Justin Mitchell placed eighth in the 800 Meter with 2:13.27.

The boys' 4x100 Meter Relay team placed third with 47.24, while the 4x400 Meter Relay team placed seventh with 3:51.56.

Individually for California in the girls division, Katie Imhoff finished the 1600 Meter in first place with 5:43.93, followed by Lizzy Kirby in second place with 5:45.21. Kirby also placed second in the 3200 Meter with 12:24.40, followed by Leah Korenberg in third place with 12:32.19. Kamryn Koetting placed fifth in the 200 Meter Dash with 28:81, while Libby Martin placed sixth in the 400 Meter with 1:07.28.

Rosie Swillum placed seventh in the 100 Meter Hurdles with 19.76, and Jasmine Wells finished the 300 Meter Hurdles in eighth place with 54.69.

The girls 4x800 Meter Relay team placed fourth with 11:13.35, while the 4x400 Meter Relay team placed fifth with 4:39.06. The 4x100 Meter Relay team placed eighth with 57.07.

Beth Davis finished the Discus Throw in sixth place with 81'4". Renee Roberts placed seventh in the Triple Jump with 28'1.5".

"Our girls' 1600 runners were excellent placing first and second," Edwards said.

The CHS trackst team will compete at the Versailles Invitational Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
