Stingrays shine at conference swim meet

The California Stingrays participated in the final meet of the season, the conference meet, July 13, where many of the California swimmers were top finishers in their event. Also competing were teams in the Mid-Missouri Swim Conference: Boonville Blue Marlins, Jefferson City Barracudas, Mexico Marlins, Centralia Hurricanes, Eldon Dolphins, Fayette Sharks, Fulton Fins, Sedalia Bandits and Westlake Tridents.

The top three finishers were awarded medals, while places 4-16 received ribbons. California swimmers who finished in the top four of their event are as follows. In the Girls 8 and Under 100 Meter Freestyle Relay, third place went to Abby Trachsel, Angel Gilmore, Megan Arnold and Isabella Kincaid with 1:45.46; Mixed 9-10 100 Meter Freestyle Relay, third place, Tagen Higgins, Madison McCord, Kaitlyn Stauffer and Tyler Johnston, 1:23.71; Girls 11-13 200 Meter Freestyle Relay, fourth, Brooklyn VanLoo, Britani Allee, Sarah McCord and Amber Trachsel, 2:38.97; Mixed 14-18 200 Meter Freestyle Relay, first, Garrett Imhoff, Kaylee VanLoo, Emma Bailey and Luke Burger, 2:13.03.

In the Mixed 8 and Under 100 Meter Medley Relay, fourth place went to Jackson Bailey, Abby Trachsel, Isabella Kincaid and Ben Porter with 1:58.62;

Mixed 9-10 100 Meter Medley Relay, fourth, Garrett Burger, Tyler Johnston, Eli Dunnaway and Tagen Higgins, 1:50.03; Mixed 14-18 200 Meter Medley Relay, third, Kaylee VanLoo, Emma Bailey, Luke Burger and Garrett Imhoff, 2:35.07.

In the Girls 6 and Under 25 Meter Backstroke, fourth place went to Charlee Bailey with 36.75; Girls 7-8 25 Meter Backstroke, first, Abby Trachsel, 24.62; Boys 9-10 25 Meter Backstroke, third, Tyler Johnston, 22.47.

In the Girls 7-8 25 Meter Freestyle, first place was won by Isabella Kincaid with 20:43, and fourth, Abby Trachsel, 22.27; Boys 15-18 50 Meter Freestyle, third, Luke Burger, 28.82.

In the Girls 7-8 25 Meter Butterfly, fourth place was won by Isabella Kincaid with 30.46; Boys 15-18 50 Meter Butterfly, first, Luke Burger, 30.22; Girls 100 Meter Butterfly, Kaylee VanLoo, third, 1:31.47.

In the Boys 7-8 25 Meter Breaststroke, fourth place went to Jackson Bailey with 27.85; Girls 7-8 25 Meter Breaststroke, fourth, Abby Trachsel, 28.25; Boys 13-14 50 Meter Breaststroke, fourth, Jack Johnston, 46.26.
