Here are high school football scores from around Missouri for Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013.
Top-seeded California (8-1) will host #8 seeded Missouri Military Academy (0-8) at 7 p.m. tonight at Riley Field in the first round of the Class 3 District 6 Tournament. "We will be focused on taking care of business," Albertson said. "Hopefully we'll get our younger kids in and get on a roll for a playoff run." The cost of admission to the district opener will be $4 for all ages, and no passes will be accepted. The Parade of Champions will begin at 5:30 p.m. Don't miss the half-time performance by the Pinto Marching Band.
Wednesday, October 30
California's varsity volleyball team played Russellville Monday night in the first round of the Class 2 District 7 Volleyball Tournament at Fatima High School, Westphalia, where the #3 seeded Lady Pintos defeated the #6 seeded Lady Indians 25-5 and 25-8.
The California Middle School football teams played their final games of the 2013 season at home at Riley Field Oct. 21, where both the seventh and eighth grade Pintos defeated the Versailles Tigers.
The Russellville Middle School girls basketball team participated in the Prairie Home Tournament Oct. 14-19, where the Lady Indians ultimately lost the contest for third place to New Franklin, 33-23 Oct. 19.
Russellville's Mikala Jungmeyer and Kelsey Schrimpf competed at the Class 1 State Golf Championships Monday and Tuesday at Sedalia Country Club, where Jungmeyer shot a 91 in the first round, and an 89 on day two to finish 19th overall with 180.

The California Pintos used stellar offense and defense to tack on yet another win Friday night at Riley Field, this time a 64-6 victory against Warsaw.
Russellville's Mikala Jungmeyer and Kelsey Schrimpf competed at the Class 1 State Golf Championships Monday and Tuesday at Sedalia Country Club, where Jungmeyer shot a 91 in the first round, and Schrimpf shot a 93.
The Russellville High School varsity cross country team participated in the Owensville Invitational Oct. 15, where the Indians finished in second place out of 14 teams with 91.
The Russellville High School volleyball teams played at Linn Oct. 14, where both the varsity and JV suffered a loss to the Lady Wildcats.

The Lady Pinto softball teams hosted Osage for California's Senior Night Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the California Sports Complex, where seniors Tiffany Carel, Jessica Hughes, Amanda Karbinas and Madi Simmons were recognized along with their parents following the varsity game. Osage won the varsity game 9-2.

We knew Friday night's game at the Falcon Athletic Complex was going to be intense. It was two longtime rivals, both state-ranked and riding high on winning streaks, facing off for the first time this season, and it was Blair Oaks' Homecoming. Somebody was bound to be disappointed. In the end though, this really wasn't the case. Sure, Pinto fans were disappointed California lost, but what a whale of a game it was! Hats off to both teams for executing an exciting nail-biter that the Falcons won 29-28.
The California High School volleyball teams were on the road Tuesday, Sept. 1, for matches at Ashland, where the varsity Lady Pintos defeated the Southern Boone Lady Eagles 25-20 and 25-10.
The Russellville High School varsity girls golf team competed at the Class 1 District 2 Golf Tournament Monday at Redfield Country Club, Eugene, where the Lady Indians finished in second place to advance as a team to Class 1 District 2 Sectionals Monday, Oct. 14, at Crescent Farms Golf Course, St. Louis.

The California High School softball teams traveled to Jamestown Monday night, where the varsity lost 8-3 to the Lady Eagles.
WASHINGTON (AP) — A law enforcement official says a shooting at the United States Capitol is related to a vehicle that tried to ram a security barricade at the White House.
The Lady Pintos hosted nine teams at the California Invitational Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the California Country Club, where California finished in second place with a team score of 378. Sacred Heart placed first with 355.
Everything was lined up for the California Pintos Friday night at Riley Field. It was Homecoming. The Pintos already had four consecutive wins under their belt...and they were still hungry. Thus, the inevitable outcome, a 42-0 win against the Southern Boone Eagles.
The California High School volleyball teams played at Mexico Monday night, where the varsity defeated the Lady Bulldogs 25-11 and 25-12.
The Jamestown Lady Eagles varsity softball team hosted Otterville Sept. 23, where they captured a 12-0 win in five innings.
The Russellville Lady Indians hosted Linn Sept. 24, where they captured an 11-9 win from the Lady Wildcats.
Russellville's varsity girls golf team participated in the Eugene Invitational Sept. 18 at Redfield Golf Course, where the Lady Indians captured a win with a team score of 358.
The Russellville Lady Indians hosted Chamois Sept. 24, where the varsity won 21-25, 25-21 and 25-15.
The Russellville Middle School girls basketball teams traveled to Eugene Thursday, where both the seventh and eighth grade teams captured a win.

Peter Kinder doesn’t have the legal authority to investigate public concerns about government waste, nor to create his planned “Missouri Waste Report” website, a state audit report said Thursday. Additionally, the report said, Kinder’s plans duplicate work already created by state law in other state agencies.
