Felony drug charges against two

Felony drug charges were filed in Moniteau County Court following a report of possible suspicious activity in a creek on Mt. Vernon Road northeast of Clarksburg.

Officers responding to the scene, on Sept. 11, allegedly located two individuals, one sitting and one digging.

A search of a book bag is alleged to have found knives, rocks and a pouch with drug paraphernalia which field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Cody L. Kost, 23, California, and Dustin L. Prather, 33, Clarksburg, were each charged with Class C Felony Possession of Controlled Substance except for 35 grams or less of marijuana and misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

If convicted on the felony charge, each could face up to seven years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Bond has been set at $25,000.
