General Federated Women’s Club held its monthly meeting

— The General Federated Women’s Club held its monthly meeting Oct. 1 at Burgher Haus. Thirteen members answered roll call to the meeting conducted by Judy Scott, first vice president. Hostesses for the day were Sharon Silvey and Nancy Bolinger with the Thought for the Day by Bolinger.

The program was presented by Marj Friedmeyer from the musical group Sweet Adelines. She told of the origin of the group and their performances and awards. Many interesting pictures were shared along with a DVD of a performance.

Members were invited to attend an Open House at Girl’s Town Oct. 5 and a GFWC Fall Convention Oct. 19.

The next meeting will be Nov. 5 at Burgher Haus with the program by United Way. Interested women from the community are invited to join the club at this meeting. For more information, call Patty Wells at 573-796-3546.
