Melissa Hentges sworn in as assessor

New Moniteau County Assessor Melissa Hentges, elected Nov. 6, 2012, assumed the office after being sworn in Thursday, Aug. 29, by 58th District Rep. David Wood, Versailles.
The swearing in was held in the courtroom of the Moniteau County Courthouse with family and friends present.
Hentges, who has lived her entire life in the county, comes to her new position with 10 years past experience in the assessor's office and five years with the County Clerk’s office
As an Assessment Clerk for retired assessor Darrel King, she was involved with various tasks including maintaining accuracy of recording land transfers on parcel record cards, recording real estate data, and assisting property owners. Working for the County Clerk over the last five years, she gained experience with accounts payable, payroll and all related reports.
Hentges is a daughter of Margaret Reynolds, California, and the late Bob Reynolds. She is married to Wayne, son of Kenny and Barb Hentges, Tipton. They and their three children, Lauren, Maggie, and Benton, live in rural Tipton and are active members of church, school district, and community.
"My goal as County Assessor is to assist each taxpayer in an efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly manner," Hentges said. "I will strive to provide accurate information and will always make the service to the citizens of Moniteau County my top priority."
